We're here to help
Great design begins with a good foundation. Let Designing Dreams help you get started.
- For large open spaces like the living room, scale up the size. A small rug can make the room feel cramped. The front legs of sofas and
chairs should be positioned on the rug.
- In the dining room, ensure all chair legs rest comfortably on the rug, even when chairs are pulled out. This will allow for chairs to move smoothly across the rug.
- In the bedroom place a rug entirely under the bed or under the front two-thirds of the bed. It’s recommended to allow several feet on each side for a soft landing underfoot.
- Create interest with a colorful pattern runner in a galley kitchen to add texture and dimension. For a square or L-shaped kitchen, use a smaller mat placed in front of the sink.
- Form a grand entrance with a woven mat or patterned runner to draw the eye inside. This first impression can be bold or subtle. Choose a rug that fits the width of your door or a runner that allows space from the wall to the rug.
